Claire Time
January was the perfect month to take a quick trip to Utah to visit some great friends, get some uninterrupted sleep, and indulge in a massage. The month has already been full of lovely re-connections after the holidays with PEPS families, Deborah, Jensens, Seth, and Martonne, but with Alison's gracious hospitality, I stayed 3 nights and spent the days thoroughly enjoying myself and visiting with her, Kirsten, Jeanne, Michelle, Julie, Kristen, Sarah, and Cindy. Ahhh. With a little shopping, museums, that dreamy massage, and delicious food in there to boot. Thanks to all those (especially Brad) who made sure things were well taken care of at home! My first time away (overnight) from little T went swimmingly, and I'm feeling refreshed and grateful to be back with my family.
A couple more January tidbits: I got an additional calling at church--Gospel Doctrine teacher. I teach every other week on this year's subject, Church History and the Doctrine & Covenants. It's going well so far! And, Brad and I saw one of my favorite plays, The Road to Mecca, and it was fantastic. I first saw it (the film version with Kathy Bates and the playwright, Athol Fugard, as the priest) at BYU's International Cinema and fell in love with its treatment of light and art and friendship and trust. This Seattle Rep version did not disappoint!
