Astrid Chava Foley Hawkins

Astrid Chava Foley Hawkins was born at 6:40 PM Pacific DST on Friday, 10 April 2009 (right on time!) at the University of Washington Medical Center Midwives Clinic. She weighed 4208 grams or 9 lbs 4 oz, and measured 54 cm or 21.25 inches. The birth was again tremendous, with Brad, Kristina, the same midwife who delivered Thorvald--Cindy, and several other wonderful helpers present. My water broke early Thursday morning (9 April), and after several hours of nothing happening (well, we did laugh a lot, chat with all the nurses, and watch a few movies), I was again induced. She came into the world quietly, shares a birthday with Max von Sydow, is perfectly healthy, looks a lot like her older brother Thorvald, has long-ish dark hair, and she loves sleeping! We love our little wonder!

Astrid means "Goddess of strength and beauty"
Chava (pronounced "Haava") means "Life"
